– Amendments

Rotating crops on the same soil is actually the best solution. Obviously winegrowers plant their vineyards... to last for an entire century. The same elements will continuously be extracted from the soil... thus risking the depletion of its nutrients. From time to time we need to correct this depletion... and make amendments to re-build the soil. To make these amendments, although not exclusively, but we're trying to use our own compost. This contains “pomace”, what's left after fermenting the grapes... Then we add chipped branches cut from winter trimming. This creates the compost we spread around in our vineyards.
