Raising the wires in Clos de Bèze june 2018

Seeing as how it hailed last night we came here to check things. Before it happens again as this year, this year the vines are growing a bit 'cauliflower'shaped. Take this off... everything is lying about and no shoots are the same length. Here we are at Clos de Beze. It's our second time to raise the wires. Raising the wires is done... We do this to support the ncw growth at the height it needs, well supported, to keep the vines separated, and... totally ventilated to treat it efficiently against mildew and to avoid rot. That's it. This was where we raised it to first. so now I remove the clip, raise it a bit more, tighten it up. separate the shoots, tuck them back, clip it back together, so it stays separated, and then move on… We also pull out the tall weeds... so they don't grow inside the vines. Here it's the same thing... Flowering went well this year... so we didn't lose any grapes. It didn't hail here at all, not a bit. so if this keeps up… No sign of disease either... No powdery mildew, no mildew at all. Eveything is going well... with Laurent's preventive measures. Here it grew quite suddenly but then stopped a bit, and so it's growing a bit ''cauliflower- like' at Clos de Bèze... That's to say here it grew quite well. It grew up to here... so it grew fast, then it blocked, so it struggled to grow again. That's 'cauliflower-like': vines that struggle to regrow. like you see here, there was some growth, then the growth blocked. Some of the vines aren't... but... the higher we are, the nicer things look. This year looks good, lots of grapes. If it keeps up until harvest, we'll be happy. Look how beautifuly the grapes are doing! You see. All the plots are like that. - BGO - BGO, Corvées.... The BGO whites are magnificent, full of grapes.... We must try it! If all goes well this will be a good year...
